Buckingham Palace

By Abigail

Buckingham Palace was built by the Duke of Normandy in 1703. Around the front of the palace, there are very weird looking earthlings, called guards, who wear funny furry hats. These people weren’t much help when I asked them where I would find the Queen; they just looked at me strangely. Apparently, there’re not allowed to smile, talk, laugh or even blink. They are practically statues! See picture.

Location and features of Buckingham Palace

Buckingham Palace is in central London. I don’t know why it is called Buckingham Palace because it doesn't buck and it isn't ham! At the top there is a flag which tells you if the Queen is in or not.  Personally, I don’t know why anyone would want to know if the Queen was out at a tea party or at home watching T.V. with her feet up on the sofa!

Buckingham Palace and all its glory

This is all of Buckingham Palace. It is  huge! It gets even bigger than that, (this photo wasn’t big enough)! Inside, there are over two hundred rooms. Why would anyone need so many?

Apparently, there are forty bedroom suites, thirty staff bedrooms, four kitchens, at least sixty entertaining rooms, twenty different dining rooms, twenty offices, two inside gymnasiums, at least ten dressing rooms, five libraries, ten storage rooms and three concert rooms! How is that for huge?
